Counterflow Systems

Hot water is distributed in a counterflow cooling tower through a system of piping and spray nozzles designed to evenly disperse the water over the heat transfer media at very low operating pressures. The spray nozzles in this system are the maintenance intensive parts of the system and to a lesser degree, the connections of lateral piping to header piping and pipe supports can also be problematic.

When spray nozzles fail, cooling tower thermal performance suffers along with damage to the heat transfer media. ATS has an improved design spray nozzle that can help prevent these failures and ensure uniform water distribution. The nozzle develops optimal water droplet size and distribution at very low operating pressure.
